- Here's a problem I had today. Any ideas anyone?
-
- Win 95 system working fine. Installed Dial Up Networking , etc for PPP
- net connection and as soon as the modem is accessed to dial service
- provider, the mouse freezes up and WILL NOT respond to anything! The
- keyboard shortcuts still work OK and the net connection goes OK, but
- the point and click Netscape interface isn't nearly as appealling when
- you can't point OR click!
-
- Details as follow:
-
- COM1 IRQ4 03F8-03FF Modem
- COM2 IRQ3 02F8-02FF Mouse
-
- Avtek Flash 288 (v.34 ext) recognised as a Motorola Lifestyle V.34 PnP
- Logitec Serial Mouse
- COM ports are on motherboard (Pentium 100 machine)
-
- tried moving COM2 to 02E8 - no change
- used CMOS to change IRQ3 from PCI/PnP to ISA/EISA - no change
-
- Even using diagnostic software to read the modem internal registers
- causes the mouse to instantly freeze up.
-
- HELP!
